Chamishah Chumshei Torah with Targum Yonason ben Uziel,  Basel 1606-1607. Extremely Rare Edition!

Chamishah Chumshei Torah with the Haftoros and peirushim, Rashi, Chizkuni and Ba’al Ha’Turim. At the end of the Sefer, there is Targum Yonason and Megilas Esther, which is attributed to the Tana Yonason ben Uziel, who received this targum from the last neviem by Klal Yisrael, Chagai Zecharia, and Malachi. Basel 1606-1607.

Targum Yonason, unlike Targum Onkelos, adds insights and chidushim to the translation of Torah. Many chidushei Torah from Chaza"l are derived from Targum Yonason.

This printing is different from the Chumash with Targum Yonason printed in Prague 1609, as this printing is the same as the Targum Yonason printed in chumashim that we presently use versus the Chumash printed in Prague.

Gedolei Yisrael, through the generations, have questioned who authored Targum Yonason, as in maseches megillah, it states that the Tana Yonoson ben Uziel wrote a commentary on kesuvim and not on Chumash (see sefer Shem Ha’Gedolim by the Chida for more details).
