Halachic responsa about wearing Pasul Tzitzis on Shabbas – by Rabbi Yehoshua Baruch Reinitz, son-in-law of the Menuchas Asher of Chenger


Letter handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua Baruch Reinitz Rabbi of Tchechevitz and the son-in-law of the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Asher Anshel Jungreiz, the auther of ‘Manuchas Asher’ of Tschenger.


The Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua Baruch Reinitz (born 1838) is the son of the renowned Gaon Rabbi Nassan Feitel, author of "Divrei Rena”f". When he reached his prime, he married the daughter of the holy tzaddik Rabbi Asher Anshel Jungreiz, known for his work "Menuchas Asher’ from Tschenger. He was ordained by his Rebbe the Maharam Shcik and his above-mentioned father-in-law; he was also a student of Maharam Ash. In 1862 he was appointed as the rabbi of Balkany and later of Tchechevitz. His Rebbe the Maharam Shcik, when citing from him in his commentary to the Mishnah describes him with admiration: "..the query of the honorable Gaon who excels in Torah and Yirah Rabbi Yehoshua Baruch Reinitz…(Maharm Schik, Machshirin 2,7).


He corresponded with the greats of his generation in Halacha, the ‘Shevet Sofer’ and ‘Maharam Shik’ and more, and they answered him with respect. He wrote ‘Teshuva Me’ahava’ to support the work ‘Lev Haivri’.
