Orsheva-Kroli 1915-1930 – Halachic Responsa in the handwriting of the Satmar Rebbe – regarding the falling of a Sefer Torah to the ground, emphasizing the importance of maintaining respect for the Shul by refraining from conversing during Davening and Krias HaTorahPart of it unpublished.

Answer from the holy Rebbe of Satmar Rabbi Joel Teitelbaum regarding the falling of a Sefer Torah, addressing the proper respect for the Shul, not talking during prayer and Torah reading. Written on 3 large pages fully in the Rebbe’s handwriting and his signature. Printed in Shu"t Divrei Yoel Siman 7, parts of the letter still not printed.

The letter, written in the early 20th century in Europe, was sent to Rabbi Shlomo Baruch Prager of Patravasela.

Rabbi Prager sought guidance on how to instruct the community when a Sefer Torah falls to the ground in Shul. The Satmar Rebbe’s response was based on extensive Talmudic sources and rulings from leading authorities, emphasizing the importance of fasting and repentance.

The Rebbe outlines a series of steps to rectify the situation, including strengthening Torah study among children, be very careful not to talk in the Beis Midrash during prayer and Torah reading, and reciting Tehillim as a communal remedy. He concludes with many blessings for the Kehilah.
