‘Korban Asham’ with signatures and comments of the holy Gaon Rabbi Meir Avraham of Tshaba, author of ‘Pri Tzadik’

The sefer ‘Korban Asham’ contains novelties on many tractates of the Talmud, by the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak son of Shimshon Shacharlish, who served as a
Dayan in Pressburg. It was printed once by the author in Sulzbach in 1777, with the approbation of Ha’Gaon R. Meir Rabbi of Pressburg.

It was owned by the holy Gaon Rabbi Meir Avraham of Tshaba, author of ‘Pri Tzadik’, with two of his signatures, one on the title page and the other at the end of the sefer. Additionally, there are four handwritten glosess with deep lomdish content, two of which mention his novelties.

The holy Gaon, Rabbi Meir Avraham of Tshaba ZY”A, was a great Torah scholar, a disciple of the holy Maggid of Mezritch and a frequent visitor by the holy tzadik Reb Elimelech of Lizhensk, ZY”A. He served as a Rabbi in the city of Tshaba in Hungary, imparting Torah knowledge to his students. He led a life of remarkable piety, abstaining from eating anything that came from a living creature for twenty years. His name became renowned as a man of God who serves Hashem with utmost dedication.

He authored the book ‘Pri Tzadik’ on the Torah, which was printed with the approbations of esteemed rabbis. The Chasam Sofer wrote in his approbation: "The righteousness and holiness of the holy Rabbi Meir Avraham, may his memory be blessed, who was formerly Rav of the community of Tshaba, who laid a blessing upon us after him…
to bless the one who helps carry out this commandment with a double reward from heaven, with blessings and success forever…"
