Talmud Yerushalmi, with hundreds of long handwritten annotations by the ‘Aruch Ha’Shulchan’ Rabbi Yechiel Michel HaLevi Epstein – an invaluable treasure!

Talmud Yerushalmi, Zeraim and Nashim, printed in Zhitomir 1886-1887, belonged to the renowned Gaon Rabbi Yechiel Michel HaLevi Epstein, author of ‘Aruch HaShulchan’ and the Rav of Navahrudak. This invaluable treasure encompasses Rabbi Epstein’s meticulous long handwritten annotations, featuring comprehensive insights and rulings, many adorned with his signature – Y.M. Halevi. These annotations, later published in the book ‘Tosafos LeYerushalmi’ under the name ‘Michal HaMayim’ (Vilna, 1928).

Part of Zraim has over 500 Hagohos, and Part Noshim has 281 Hagohos.

Possessing this sacred Talmud, which the Gaon toiled over, is a true blessing for its owner.

To complete the set, we’ve included the remaining volumes of the Talmud Yerushalmi printed in Zhitomir.

Rabbi Yechiel Michel Epstein (1829-1908), a leading halachic authority pre-Holocaust and brother-in-law of the Gaon Rabbi Naftali Zvi Berlin the ‘Netziv, ‘ served as Rav of Navahrudak. His foundational work, ‘Aruch HaShulchan, ‘ remains highly regarded in practical halachic decisions even today.

This collection, spanning five volumes, is in very good condition, with trimmed annotations in the margins, slight water stains, and beautifully bound in handcrafted leather bindings.
