CHABAD – Letter of the Rayat"z of Lubavitch, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn and his son in law Rabbi Shmaryahu Gur Aryeh Shevat 1942
Hachtarah letters to Rabbi Yosef Lipman Gurowitz, one of the Rabbanim of Melbourne, Australia, from the Lubavitcher Rebbe bearing his signature. "I am asking you to please make an effort to help the Yeshivos and Mosdos…. I hereby appoint you as the chief treasurer…."
Sent during the Holocaust January 1942
There is an additional letter from Rabbi Shmaryahu Gur Aryeh, the son-in-law of the Rayat"z, in which he elaborates details about the worldwide Chabad movement and implores Rabbi Gurowitz to accept the position of Chief Treasurer.
