Ateres Shlomo L’Maharshal, Lublin 1699 – Extremely Rare!
Sha’ar Dura, on matters of Halacha, Kashrus, and Taharah, by Rabbi Yitzchak miDura with the glosses of Rabbi Yitzchak Isserlin (author of Terumas HaDeshen), and the glosses of Atres Shlomo, by the Gaon of Yisrael, Rabbi Shlomo Luria, HaMaharshal, Lublin 1690 – Second Edition.
The author, the Gaon Yisrael Rabbi Shlomo Luria (HaMaharshal), is renowned as a towering figure of Torah scholarship, and his monumental work Chochmas Shlomo is one of the most influential works shaping the approach to learning until this day. He was a close friend and peer of Rabbi Moshe Isserles (The Rema) and even disagreed with him on several halachic matters. He served as a Rav in many communities and eventually established his home and prestigious yeshiva in the great city of Lublin.
A wondrous tale is told by Maran HaChida about him: "…a miracle happened to him one night, when he had only a small candle that would burn for about an hour, and he would learn and continue studying for several hours, with his light shining bright for ages and generations…" (Shem HaGedolim).
Among his Talmidim were all the great figures of that generation, including the holy Shlah Hakodosh, the author of Keneh Binah, the author of the Sem"a, and many others. It is also said that Rabbi Shlomo Luria studied Kabbalah with one of the great disciples of the Arizal, Rabbi Yitzchak Saruk, zt"l.
