The Personal Chamash of Rabbi Naftali Hertzka of Ratzfert, Zy”a – With His Signature! From the Library of Rabbi Mordechai Banet of Nikolsburg – Kadosh V’Nora!
A Lemberg 1808 edition of Chumash with Toras Moshe by Rabbeinu Moshe Alshich, zt”l, which belonged to
Rabbi Mordechai Banet, zt”l, the great leader of Nikolsburg and Moravia. After his passing, the sefer changed hands several times until it reached Rabbi Moshe Segal Citron, who gave it to
Rabbi Naftali Hertzka of Ratzfert, zt”l for his use.
Inside, Rabbi Naftali Hertzka personally inscribed and signed that the sefer belonged to Rabbi Moshe Citron. Later, it was inherited by Rabbi Moshe’s son, Rabbi David Segal Citron of Nanash and Darag.
Historic Inscriptions Inside the Sefer:
On the front endpaper, an original inscription states:
"This sefer belongs to the great and outstanding Gaon, Rabbi Mordechai Banet, Av Beis Din of Nikolsburg and the region."
Later, in the handwriting of Rabbi Naftali Hertzka of Ratzfert, zt”l, it states:
"This sefer belongs to the exceptional and distinguished Rav, the chassid and humble one, the honorable Rabbi Moshe Segal.
I am the one who writes and signs, the katan, Naftali Hertz ben Moreinu HaRav Yaakov Peretz Segal.”
