Genealogical Tree: A Holy Letter from the Holy Rabbi Yaakov of Peshawarsk Zt"l, Detailing His Five-Generation Lineage
A holy letter written entirely in the holy handwriting of the Holy Rabbi Yaakov of Peshawarsk Zt"l, dated Wednesday, the 22nd of Kislev, 1977 [approximately two and a half months after the passing of his father-in-law, the Holy Rabbi Itzikel Zt"l], to the Chassid Rabbi Yechiel Brandstatter, author of Lekket Mei’Otzer HaChassidus.
At the beginning, he expresses his gratitude for the book Lekket Mei’Otzer HaChassidus that was sent to him, and writes that he is sending him fifty dollars. After his holy signature, he details his lineage and also mentions how he is related to the wife of the letter’s recipient:
"Words of peace and my friend all my days, Yaakov Leizer, son of Rabbi Dovid Yitzchak Zt"l, son of Rabbi Aryeh Leibush, son of Rabbi Shmuel, son of Rabbi Kalman, son of Rabbi Nosson Leizer from the city of Rimano.
And the brother of my great-grandfather, Rabbi Kalman mentioned above, was Rabbi Michel Leizer, who also lived in Yashlisk, and his son-in-law was Rabbi Yoska Biron, and his son-in-law was Rabbi Eli Leizer, and his son was Rabbi Betzalel Zt"l. –
It turns out that I am a fifth-degree relative of [his wife]
HaTz’, the fifth in line."
