This priceless letter, penned on Monday, Shemini, 12 Nissan 1901, was sent to the chassid Rabbi Mordechai Friedman of Tiszaújlak, who at the time was in need of healing. The holy Rabbi of Kolbosov urged him to avoid adopting stringencies that year for Pesach, writing:
"Please, please, have mercy on your soul and the souls of your household, not to transgress my words. Take great care to fulfill the mitzvah of ‘guarding your life’ (u’shemartem l’nafshoseichem) and do not take upon yourself various stringencies this upcoming Yom Tov, whether regarding matzah or in any other matters."
The holy tzaddik concludes with blessings.
