A True Rarity! – Ramban Al HaTorah, Salonika 1521 – First Edition with Chumash!
Special Edition! Ramban on Torah, Saloniki 1521, first edition together with the Chumash, including the translations of Onkelos, Rashi, and Ramban. Parts: Vayikru, Bamidbor, and Dvorim.
The book was published by Yehuda Gedaliah in Salonika 1521, and it is the first edition of the book Chidushim of the Ramban on the Torah together with the Chumash, which has been studied and cherished by Jewish communities for centuries. It was especially beloved by Maran HaChasam Sofer and among the Chassidim of the generations.
The book was printed
without a title page (as was common in that era), and at the end, it includes a
colophon that details the completion of the work by the printer.
As noted in the
British Museum catalog from
1867, the book was already
extremely rare and valuable at that time, and they were aware of
only one other copy in existence in addition to the one held by the museum. This book is considered truly unique in the world.
