Kodesh Kodashim! – Siddur Avodah U’Moreh Derech, Slavuta 1835 – Exceptionally Wide Margins – A Tzaddik’s Personal Copy
Siddur Seder Avodah U’Moreh Derech, Nusach Sefard, second volume, printed by HaRav Shmuel Abba Shapira, Slavuta 1835 –
a unique copy with exceptionally wide margins – an unparalleled rarity!
On the inner cover, handwritten:
".. LH"U, this sefer belongs to my esteemed uncle, HaGaon HaTzaddik HaMefursam, currently residing here in Bucharest, YTzV…"
It appears that
this siddur belonged to a renowned Gaon and Tzaddik, revered and sanctified in his generation, who resided for a time in Bucharest. It is highly plausible that this magnificent
Siddur Kodesh was the personal siddur of HaRav HaKadosh Rebbe Yaakov Yosef Twersky of Skver, Zy”a, who lived in Bucharest between 1945 and 1948.
The tzaddikim of the holy Skver dynasty are known for their profound affinity for the sacred Siddurim printed in Slavuta—making it clear why the Rebbe chose this very Siddur to pour out his tefillos!
