Rabin Pinchas Twerski, Przemysl (Poland)
The holy Rabbi Pinchas Twerski of Ostila Zt"l – son of the holy Rabbi Mordechai of Rakhmistrivka Zt"l, who was the son of the first Rebbe of the Rakhmistrivka dynasty, the holy Rabbi Yochanan Zt"l, and son-in-law of his uncle, the holy Rabbi Dovid of Talna Zt"l. The holy Rabbi Pinyele was the son-in-law of the holy Rabbi Yissachar Dov of Belz Zt"l, and he lived many years in Belz, where he was deeply loved and admired by his father-in-law, the Rebbe Zt"l, and praised him greatly. In 1923, he was appointed as the Rabbi of Ostila, and his father-in-law blessed him to bring salvation for all of Israel. There, a large following began to gather around him, and over the years, his name became known as one of the greatest Rebbes in Galicia. In 1932, he moved to the city of Przemysl, where he lived until the middle of the war, when he fled to Sambor, where he was tragically killed during the war in the month of Iyar, al Kiddush Hashem.
"Among the few survivors from the war was the righteous Rebbetzin Trani a"h, the wife of the holy Rebbe of Skver zt"l."
