Letter from Rabbi Yitzchak Zelig of Sokolov Kotsk – La”g Ba’Omer Warsaw 1932

Asking for help in forwarding a donation to Eretz Yisrael. He writes that he promised eight dollars for hachnasas kallah during a trip to EY, but cannot send cash by mail; therefore, he is forwarding the money to the recipient and is asking him to send a check in this amount to EY.

Rabbi Yitzchak Zelig Morgenstern
(1866-1940), was one of the greatest Admorim in Poland. He was the grandson of the Kotsker Rebbe Rabbi Menachem Mendel Morgenstern of Kotzk. In 1900 he was appointed AB”D in Sokolov and in 1905 became the Rebbe of Sokolov and Otwock, where he established a prominent yeshiva, and thousands flocked to his door to receive advice and brachos.

Among his descendants are the Novominsker Tzadikim. His Torah novella was printed in the sefer She’eris Yitzchok.
