, in addition to his gadlus and kedusha, was known for his immense sharpness and profound analysis. His grandson, Ha’Gaon Rabbi Zev Wolf Goldberger zatza"l, writes in his Sefer Darkei Ha’yashar V’hatov" that the Ha’Gaon Rabbi Menachem Ash, AB"D of Ungvar, commented, "If your grandfather had not been a Rebbe, he would have conquered the entire world with his sharpness." When the Liska Rebbe heard this comment, he responded: "I know, but what can I do? If I see a barefooted orphan, I must leave the Gemara and make sure the poor child has shoes. "
