The Dezsher Rebbe Ha’Gaon Rabbi Menachem Mendel Panet, Ba’al Ma’aglei Tzedek ben Ha’Gaon Rabbi Yechezkel Panet Ba’al Ma’areh Yechezkel (1818-1885), was a talmid of the Chasam Sofer. The Chasam Sofer showed him a lot of affection and cherished him. In 1835, he left Presburg and went to learn by the Yismach Moshe in Uehel. As a bachur, he merited gilui Eliyahu Ha’Navi when Eliyahu Ha’Navi revealed himself to answer some questions he had in halacha (Heichal Ha’Beshe"t Vol. 7 pg. 125). After his marriage, he learned together with the Kol Aryeh. In 1860 he was appointed AB"D in Orshiver (Urișor), where he established a large yeshivah with over two hundred talmidim. In 1862, he was appointed AB"D in Dezsh (Dés), where he taught Torah and remained until his passing. Upon the instruction of the Divrei Chaim he was crowned Rebbe, and many people flocked to his court where they were helped by his brochos. He authored many seforim in halacha such as the Ma’aglei Tzedek, ‘Sha’arei Tzedek, ”Mishpat Tzedek, ”Avnei Tzedek" as well as chidushim on Shas.
