Megillat Esther owned and used by the Steipler Gaon Rabbi Ya’akov Yisrael Kanievsky
Megillat Esther 22 lines, which was used by the exalted tzaddik and gaon Rabbi Ya’akov Yisrael Kanievsky ‘the Steipler’, for many years while he was still in Europe until the year 1976, when he gave it as a gift to his grandson Rabbi Chaim Kluft.
An interesting detail should be noted, that apparently the Shin letters originally had a round bottom without a thorn in the style of "Wallish" script, in the present scroll someone completed all the Shin letters and added their bottoms with a thorn, as ruled the Mishnah Brurah (Siman 36 about the letter Shin) – it is very likely that the Steipler himself, or someone on his behalf, made this correction throughout the entire scroll!
Attached is a confirmation from his great grandson Rabbi Shaul Kluft of Bnei Brak, who even asked the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, who attested to him that this is the scroll used by his father the Steipler.
Who is it that will be blessed already this year, to read the Megilla from this scroll used by the great Tzaddik and Gaon for many years!
Good overall condition, somewhat moderate, depending on the period, some wear, light tears, water marks and creases.
