A letter dated 7 Shevat 5727 (1967) to Rabbi Ben Zion Bayer, Shlit”a (Dayan of the Eida HaChareidis), on the occasion of his family’s connection through marriage with the daughter of the Torah scholar, Rabbi Yitzchak Zev Meir, ZT"L, Rosh Yeshiva of Nitra.
Includes a few lines in the Rebbe’s sacred handwriting and his signature.
The Rebbe, Rabbi Yochanan Twersky of Rachmastrivka (5660–5742), was a continuation of the illustrious golden dynasty of Chernobyl, a direct descendant of the Me’or Einayim, the Maggid of Chernobyl. He was the son of the Rebbe, Rabbi Dovid of Rachmastrivka. In 5686 (1926), he ascended to Eretz Yisrael together with his grandfather and father. After his father’s passing in 5710 (1950), he was appointed as his successor. He was known for his self-sacrifice, miraculous deeds, and was regarded as one of the great tzaddikim of the Chassidic world.
