The book features the approbations of the holy Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berdichev and the holy
Yismach Moshe (who was then Av Beit Din of Shinova), who writes about his Rabbi, the author: "When I was a young boy, I poured water by his hand and served him in the yeshiva… My teacher and rabbi, the true scholar…"
At the beginning of the book, a long poem from Yismach Moshe in honor of the author.

The author of the book, the holy Rabbi Aryeh Leib Halevi (1736-1803), was one of the great figures of Chassidus, Av Beit Din of Stryzov, and several other communities.

Rabbi Yosef Shaul writes in his approbation for Heishiv Moshe by the Yismach Moshe: "He was a student of the holy rabbi who authored Derishat Ari on Even HaEzer, and from him, he learned both revealed and hidden knowledge, for the rabbi, the author of Derishat Ari, was a master in Torah and Chassidus, and this rabbi knew all secrets. Moshe [the Yismach Moshe] received Torah and practical Kabbalah from the holy sage."
