– Autographed Letter by the Admor Rabbi Moshe Rokach of Kozlov

A rare handwritten letter by the Admor Rabbi Moshe Rokach of Kozlov dated Monday, Beshalach [1925]. In this letter, which was inscribed while the Admor was still living in Europe, he requests the support of a philanthropist named Nagler from the city of Prague
. The contents of the letter reveal the Admor’s dire financial situation as he mentions that the addressee had promised to send him money to fix his shoes, and the shoemaker is dissatisfied with Nagler’s written pledge to send the money. The letter is signed
“Moshe Rokach son of the Rav of Kozlov near Tarnipol.”

The Admor Rabbi Moshe Rokach (1896-1971) was the son of Rabbi Meir Rokach, Av Beis Din of Kozlov and scion of the holy dynasty of Belz. He studied under the tutelage of the Maharsham and spent his early years soaring in Torah in his beis medrash in Tarnipol. He succeeded his father as Admor and subsequently made his home in the United States where he served as a lighthouse of spiritual strength for the masses, never deviating from his faith or observance even on the shores of America.
