Polemics Nadir – Chosen Yeshuos – Yerushalayim, 1879
The sefer Chosen Yeshuos titled "Chiddushei Baba Kama, L’galeh Razin Temirin D’Atgalu Le’Mi’M’sod Hashem L’yireiav Peh Ha’Kodesh Yerushalayim" contains teachings from Maseches Bava Kama with a focus on Kabbalah, the intentions of the Birchas Kohanim (Priestly Blessing), and other related matters. It was authored by the Jerusalem Kabbalist Rabbi Moshe Meishil Gelbstien zt”l, and printed by Yitzchak Gashitzini in Yerushalayim in 1879.
Within the pages of the sefer, several print dates appear, as it was printed in several separate pamphlets until around 1888, though its printing or writing was not completed, and it ends on page 42.
On page 32, the author sharply criticizes the ‘Tekheles’ that was revealed by the Rebbe of Radzin.
The Kabbalist Rabbi Hillel Moshe Meishil Gelbstien (1832–1908) was a disciple of the Rebbe of Kotzk and the Tzemach Tzedek of Lubavitch. After the passing of his masters, he made aliyah to the Holy Land in 1868 to settle in Yerushalayim. Upon arriving, he dedicated himself to matters concerning the Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple), urging the importance of maintaining the mitzvah of safeguarding the sanctity of the Temple. He even hired guards himself to protect the area of the Temple Mount. He was known as a tzaddik and miracle-worker, testifying to many miracles that occurred to him at the Kotel HaMa’aravi (Western Wall).
