Ksav from 26 L’Mebi”y Tarsad, from HaGaon HaRav Moshe Aryeh Roteh, Av Beis Din of Papa, addressed to “L’yedidi haTorani v’HaRabani, Mufla u’Muflag b’Toras Hashem, chad mi’Yekirei Yerushalayim Ir HaKodesh, shelshales ha’yuchsin” – HaRav HaChassid Reb Avrohom Yochanan Blumenthal (Tarlaz–Tashkaz). He writes that he is sending him a letter of recommendation in Lashon Ashkenaz, so that he should be supported… regarding this great mitzvah which he has undertaken to bring to completion, and “Hashem Yisbarach will grant him success in his path.”
HaRav HaChassid Reb Avrohom Yochanan Blumenthal founded the “Beis Chinuch Ne’arim V’Yeshivas Bachurim” in Yerushalayim in Tars, with the goal of educating the youth of Klal Yisroel, particularly abandoned children who had strayed off the path, to raise and guide them with both physical and spiritual sustenance, al pi derech HaTorah, mussar, and derech eretz. A special kuntres was published with haskamos from Gedolei Yisroel in Eretz Yisroel and Chutz LaAretz, including the endorsement of the Gaon of Papa in Lashon HaKodesh.
After WWI, he went on to establish and lead the Bais HaYesomim Tzion-Blumenthal and was also among the heads of the Eidah HaChareidis.
