A Letter of Blessing from the Holy Rav, Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Zhydachiv, Hy"d – "And from This Business, He Will Attain Great Wealth Without End"
A letter of blessing penned by the holy tzaddik, Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Zhydachiv, Hy"d, the last Rebbe to serve in Zhydachiv before the war, addressed to his uncle, the chassid Rabbi Moshe Goldschlag, z"l. In this letter, he blesses him with success in his new business venture and that he should attain great wealth from it, along with many additional blessings. He also informs him that he mentioned him for good at the holy gravesite on the day of the hillula.
At the beginning of the letter, there is a lengthy message filled with blessings from his mother, the righteous Rebbetzin Rivka Riva Eichenstein, a"h, widow of the holy Rav, Rabbi Avraham Chaim of Zhydachiv, zy"a, to her brother, Rabbi Moshe Goldschlag. [It is noteworthy that in the Rebbetzin’s letter, all the words in Loshon HaKodesh are written with numerous errors, as it was well known that in Galicia, they were exceedingly careful that girls should not study any sacred texts.]
The holy Rav, Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Zhydachiv, zy"a, Hy"d, was the son of the holy Rav, Rabbi Chaim Avraham, zy"a, son of the holy Rav, Rabbi Menachem Mendel, zy"a, son of the great and hidden tzaddik, the "Saba Kadisha, " Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Zhydachiv, zy"a. His father, Rabbi Chaim Avraham, zy"a, was the son-in-law of the chassid and philanthropist, Rabbi Yechezkel Goldschlag, z"l, whose wife was a granddaughter of the gaon and tzaddik, the author of Merkavat HaMishneh on the Mechilta. He was the one who first published the Merkavat HaMishneh at the directive of the great tzaddik, the holy Rav, Rabbi Yissachar Dov of Belz, zy"a.
Rabbi Menachem Mendel was the son-in-law of the holy Rav, Rabbi Ephraim of Rozvadov, zy"a, son of the holy Rav, Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch of Rozvadov, zy"a, son of the great tzaddik, the Saba Kadisha, Rabbi Moshe of Rozvadov, zy"a. Rabbi Ephraim of Rozvadov was the son-in-law of his uncle, the great Rav, Rabbi Avraham Chaim Horowitz, zy"a, Av Beis Din of Planch. [Thus, it turns out that the author of this letter, Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Zhydachiv, was the son-in-law of the brother-in-law of the holy Rebbe of Satmar, zy"a.]
