Sefer Imrei Moshe – First Edition – A Chassidus Sefer Printed Primarily in Tzfas and Partly in Lemberg

Imrei Moshe is a sefer with Chassidic discourses on the Torah, authored by the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Pidhorcer, Av Beis Din of Rimlov, zt"l, a disciple of the holy
Rabbi Moshe Leib of Sasov, zt"l.

In Parshas Vayetzei, the sefer brings teachings in the name of his Rebbe, the holy Rabbi Moshe Leib of Sasov, writing: "And he commanded me to say this interpretation in his name. Therefore, I decided to bring it to print in his name."

The sefer was printed in two locations: Tzfas and Lemberg, in 1866. Most of the sefer (pages 1-32) was printed in Tzfas, using large Rashi script. It was later completed in Lemberg, where the title page (indicating "Tzfas" as the place of printing), seven subsequent pages, and pages 33-36 were printed in smaller Rashi script. To make the transition between the two parts smoother, the first page of the sefer was reprinted in Lemberg and pasted onto the original first page.

The sefer includes an approbation from the holy "Dvar Chaim" of Sanz, zt"l, on the title page.

Additionally, the title page contains the signature of Rabbi Tzvi Dov Segal Shenhaver, Dayan of Shmeliv, during the time of the holy "Lechem Shlomo" of Shmeliv, zt"l.

Rabbi Tzvi Dov Shenhaver, a disciple of the holy Rabbi Menachem Aizik Shapira, Av Beis Din of Ungvar, served for many years as the Dayan of the community of Shmeliv. He was a remarkable scholar, renowned for his exceptional fluency and knowledge of the Talmud and Poskim, which he knew by heart. He was humble as Hillel, as testified by the holy Rabbi of Shmeliv in his eulogy (Lechem Shlomo, Drush 133). In his youth, he learned under the holy "Dvar Chaim" of Sanz, zt"l, and received a blessing from him to live 88 years, which was indeed fulfilled, as he lived a full 88 years. When the Satmar Rebbe, zt"l, visited Shmeliv, he paid a visit to Rabbi Tzvi Dov. Rabbi Tzvi Dov kept large notebooks in which he wrote extensive notes on the Talmud and Poskim, and he frequently consulted with the holy "Lechem Shlomo" of Shmeliv. Sadly, these notebooks were lost during the Holocaust, along with other manuscripts. He passed away on Shabbos, the 26th of Tishrei, 1934.

Complete, in good condition. Missing some text on the first page, with an old binding.
