Sefer Ir Miklat – First Edition, Dehrenfurt, 1730
Ir Miklat… these commandments… 613 [with references in the Talmud and Poskim], authored by Rabbi David ben Rabbi Aryeh Leib… printed in the press of Rabbi Shabti Mesorer of Prague, the publisher of the "Sefas Chachamim, " first edition, Dehrenfurt, 1730.
The sefer features an ancient signature, unclear but appearing on the title page: "Raphael…". On one of the pages, names of the seven planets are written in both Lashon HaKodesh and foreign languages, with another ancient inscription: "The young Kapil, son of Rabbi Moshe…".
In addition, on the margins of the pages, there are two entries quoting the Rambam about the prohibition of impurity for Kohanim and the prohibition of destroying fruit trees. On the back guard leaf, there is a handwritten prayer for a woman during pregnancy, as well as another ownership inscription: "This book belongs to the officer Rabbi Itzk…".
In 1789, Rabbi Shabti Mesorer of Prague established his printing press in Dehrenfurt, and due to his initiative, he also founded a Jewish community in the city. However, he soon faced the wrath of the local Christian priests, who falsely accused him of publishing books that criticized their religion, leading to his imprisonment.
