Shalosh Esrei Yesodei HaTorah by the Rambam, with a commentary by the physician Rabbi Mordechai Gompel. [Hamburg], 1792. Unique Edition.

The author, Rabbi Mordechai Gompel [Tav Kuf-Tav Nun Zayin], was a dayan and a maggid in the communities of A.V.H. (Altona, Hamburg, and Wandsbek). He was also known as Professor Lewinson, a renowned physician in England. He was asked to establish a hospital in Sweden and, for his efforts, received a professor title from the king. He later moved to Hamburg (additional material about him is attached).
The book is bound in a new cover. Condition: Very good.
On the title page, there is the signature of the learned Gaon Rabbi Chaim Natan Dembitzer, the Rav of Krakow [Tav Kuf Pei-Tav Nun Gimel], the author of Toras Chaim, Klalos Yofi on the rabbis of Lviv, and more. He was a sharp and learned Torah scholar, a dayan, and a maggid in his hometown.
