Shirei HaNefesh by the Malbim – First Edition – Königsberg, 1857

A commentary on Shir HaShirim (Song of Songs) with explanations of "Mashal" (parable) and "Mimtsa" (metaphor), by the renowned Rabbi Meir Leibush Malbim.

This commentary on Shir HaShirim is one of the first works that the Malbim printed on the Tanach while he was still serving as the Rabbi of Kamenets. It was printed by him in Königsberg in 1857. The work was printed independently in order to strongly refute the commentary of Mendelssohn and his circle on Shir HaShirim.

At the top of the page, the text of Shir HaShirim is printed with vowels and cantillation marks, and beneath it are the two explanations of the Malbim, Mashal and Mimtsa. The work begins with an extensive introduction titled "Introduction to the Work" and concludes with a section titled "The Craftsman and the Frame."

Condition: Good, with stains, newly bound in leather.
