לפנינו עותק שלם של ספר 'פני שלמה' שחיברו רבי שלמה גאנצפריד.
רבי שלמה גאנצפריד (תקס"ד-תרמ"ו) נולד באונגוואר שבהונגריא לאביו רבי יוסף. לימים נעשה לאב"ד דק"ק אונגוואר וחיבר ספרי הלכה חשובים. כשהוציא את ספרו הראשון 'קסת הסופר' שמבאר כל ההלכות שנוגעות לדיני סת"ם, יצא רבינו ה'חתם סופר' מגדרו והמליץ שהוא ספר חובה לכל סופר. רבי שלמה גאנצפריד זכה והתפרסם בעיקר דרך ספרו 'קיצור שלחן ערוך' שהפך לספר הכי יסודי במדינת אשכנז עד הוצאתו של ספר 'משנה ברורה'.
